Synopsis

Libby has a rare and extraordinary gift—she lives in two different time periods, experiencing two separate lives. One in 1774 Colonial Williamsburg, on the brink of the American Revolution, and the other in 1914 Gilded Age New York, just as World War I looms. On her 21st birthday, she must make an impossible choice: which time will she remain in forever?
As she navigates love, duty, and faith, Libby faces heartbreak, tough decisions, and the realization that God has a plan for her, no matter which path she chooses.

My Thoughts/Review

A Fascinating Concept

Time-slip novels always intrigue me, but this one? Absolutely brilliant. The way Gabrielle Meyer wove together two timelines felt so seamless and immersive. I loved the tension of knowing Libby had to choose between her two lives. How do you even begin to decide something like that? It made for such a compelling read.

Rich Historical Detail

One of my favorite things about historical fiction is getting lost in the past, and Meyer absolutely delivered. The Revolutionary War setting in Williamsburg was so vivid, and I could practically hear the bustling streets and feel the weight of the impending war. Meanwhile, the 1914 New York scenes were just as captivating, full of opulence and change. The historical accuracy and attention to detail made both worlds feel alive.

We must take whatever joy can be found from each day and not borrow tomorrow’s sorrow.
Memorable Characters

Libby was such a well-developed character and I found myself rooting for her through every challenge. Her strength, faith, and resilience made her journey so impactful. The side characters were just as compelling, from her family and friends in both timelines to the love interests who added layers of emotion to the story.

An Emotional Journey

I cried. More than once. The story tugged at my heartstrings in the best way, and I was completely invested in Libby’s journey. The weight of her decision, the moments of love and loss, and the way faith played a role in her choices made for such an emotional read.

A Satisfying Ending

Without giving anything away, the ending was so well done. It wrapped up beautifully, leaving me both satisfied and eager to continue the series. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us!

Freedom isn’t stagnant or guaranteed. It lives and breathes and must be defended constantly. Don’t take it for granted.
